Future Scientists and Engineers High Spring Workshop Day 3
Our high school students got hands-on with renewable energy through a blackberry solar cell lab!

Using everyday materials like blackberry juice, students explored how natural dyes can be used to capture sunlight and generate electricity. An exciting introduction to the principles behind solar energy and sustainable technology. From preparing the cells to testing voltage output, they experienced the full process of turning science concepts into real-world applications.
It was great to see their curiosity in action as they experimented, problem-solved, and made connections between chemistry, physics, and engineering. Activities like this not only build technical skills but also inspire students to think about innovative solutions for a more sustainable future.
Looking forward to seeing what they create next!
