Workshop Activities

Hands-On STEM Activities

BE-STARSE students engage in a wide range of hands-on engineering and science activities designed to spark curiosity and build real-world skills. Participants explore renewable energy through solar cell design, learn the fundamentals of robotics and coding, and develop their own printed circuit boards (PCB). Students also take part in drone building and flight testing, experiment with physics concepts using smartphone sensors, and gain exposure to nanofabrication techniques in a university lab setting. Each activity is guided by UC Davis faculty, graduate students, and industry mentors, giving students the chance to apply STEM concepts creatively while discovering potential career pathways in emerging technologies.
