Dr. Knoesen's general interest is to develop and apply sensor and sensor networks to enhance interaction between humans and electronic systems. His research is now focusing on wine making as a specific application area. New sensors and methods are developed that along with existing sensors are connected into large-scale networks to monitor multiple physical and chemical parameters to better understand, control and in general optimize wine fermentations.
